Drawing through the pandemic
In the week leading up to Easter 2020, I began making sketches for a graphic story about the corona crisis in Denmark. The goal was to create a narrative that showed how the pandemic was affecting people physically, mentally, and socially. But I also wanted to include glimpses of the unexpected smiles and conversations with strangers that have kept me going.

A corona lockdown exhibition
In spring 2021, a Danish version of Part 1 of The Big Pause was chosen for the Artists’ Easter Exhibition (KP) at Kunsthal Aarhus.
KP is one of just five national juried exhibitions held annually in Denmark. Due to the lockdown, the exhibition this year was exclusively digital. That format aligned well with the original impetus behind The Big Pause, as it allowed the story to be disseminated online in a time where people were otherwise prevented from visiting museums and cut off from each other.
